Beauty Becomes You (Beauty #4) by Skye Warren

Book Review

Title: Beauty Becomes You (Beauty #4)

Author: Skye Warren

Genre: Erotic/Romance

Rating: *****

Review: It seems that Beauty Becomes You is following the themes and troubles that were laid out in Broken Beauty and I am ready for it, although I am not ready for this series to end as there is only one book left. The opening to Beauty Becomes You was definitely my favourite of the series so far as it opens with an amazing sex scene where Blake and Erin begin testing the boundaries of their relationship and not in a BDSM way. They also decide not to see each other until the semester is over but Erin has asked Blake to come to her hometown and meet her mother and Blake has asked her to move in with him, each proving to the other that their feelings are real and this relationship is really going somewhere, which was delight to see. Labelling as erotic fiction many would believe this series is all about sex but it isn’t it focuses purely on the relationship between two broken and damaged people and how they enhance each other in every single way.

Over the next two weeks we follow Blake and Erin over the course of the semester spending time apart but they desperately want to be with each other again. As the final day of the semester approaches, Erin is getting a bad feeling as she hasn’t heard from her mother in weeks but she has to put it out of her mind with her thesis defence approaching. In the aftermath of finishing college, Melinda actually apologises to Erin and she accepts it which is great since another professor has a crush on Melinda and Blake encourages him to ask her out. Blake meanwhile has accepted a permanent position at the university and is enjoying making friends with the other professors while Erin is in crisis. It turns out that her mother has had a major heart attack and she needs to return home but her car has broken down and she can’t get hold of Blake but she does run into her ex, Doug who is very different from when they dated and offers to give her a ride back home and she gratefully accepts since she has no other way of getting there. Not long after Blake arrives having picked up her messages and is there to support her through her mother’s recovery. I really loved the scene between Blake and Sophia (Erin’s mother) where she tells him he will do and that she might just like him when he gives her a cheeseburger to eat. Even after her release from hospital, she and Blake seem to get along very well which puts Erin’s mind at ease.

The final scenes of this book were perfect, despite spending another three weeks apart so Erin can oversee her mother’s recovery she has told Blake that she will move in with him when she returns, however, she does a bit more than that as she mirrors the scene from the first book where she caught him, in order to show him that she loves and cares for him, which he already knows. Afterwards, she asks him to marry her and he agrees, he even has a ring on hand as he was planning to ask her. The best scene in the book for me was the ending scene where we witness their first morning living together and the first morning after the proposal and Blake’s internal monologue during this scene was cute, divine, and absolutely everything I ever needed in life. Overall, Beauty Becomes You might be my favourite book in the series although we have the finale, Loving the Beast to come.
