Book Review
Title: Burdens We Carry by Dana Isaly (One Night Book 3)
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic, Romance
Rating: 4.5 Stars
So we know that this is Owen’s story and from the previous book that he has had a marriage to Aurora arranged by his family which he doesn’t want but I have a feeling that is going to change. This story takes place during the epilogue of Secrets We Hunt and we learn that Owen’s family haven’t even seen the girl he is going to marrying which is odd given the situation and he is nervous as ever as he gets ready. We learn that Owen’s parents didn’t have the best relationship and he isn’t really close to either of them and he doesn’t want a relationship like theirs, he wants one filled with love and he prays he can have that with this mystery woman.
As he walks down the aisle, Owen gets a glimpse of Aurora and immediately stunned by how beautiful she is and finds himself extremely lucky. As they have their first kiss, he realises that she might be a virgin and has to sit through the reception in an embarrassing and uncomfortable situation but he takes this time to observe his wife and sees that beneath the surface she is just as feisty as he is despite her innocent appearance. By the time they retire for the night both are nervous and Owen wants to make this time good for Aurora but offers her a way out if she needs it.
Aurora has never been seen as beautiful because of her albinism but Owen adores that about her and their first night together was amazing as Owen demonstrates a patient and gentle side while Aurora learns about the pleasures her body can offer her. This essentially sums up the entire book but in the epilogue we do see the entire group together planning a getaway to Tokyo which is going to be interesting since the next book is Pyro’s and he seems to be the most unpredictable and violate of the group but I am looking forward to it.
