Title: Call Me Daddy
Author: Emma Roberts
Genre: Romance
Rating: *****
Review: Yet another adult romance this month, Call Me Daddy follows Jace and Whitney and I didn’t know that much about it when I requested it, but I am on a real adult romance/erotica kick lately. We meet Whitney who comes from a very wealthy family, but she has a very bad drinking and spending habit leading her to be almost totally cut off from her family, Jace whose wife April died takes a liking to Whitney and plans to exploit her situation to get her and Whitney is planning to do the same to Jace so I was excited to see where the pair would end up.
After being invited to Jace’s home for dinner, Whitney has an idea about what he wants but she is way off the mark from the beginning. After their first night together Whitney already feels something with Jace that she has never felt before. The pair discusses the terms of the arrangement and while it hurts Whitney’s pride, she understands that this kind of relationship is exactly what she needs and clings to everything that Jace offers her.
As their relationship progresses, we get to know a lot more about the characters outside of the bedroom and both come from rather dark backgrounds although Jace’s is far darker than Whitney’s, however, his experience gives her some clarity on what her life could be like if she continues down the road she is on.
The ending of Call Me Daddy was heartfelt and beautiful, Jace and Whitney bring out the best in each other and provide the other with things they can’t get anywhere else. Jace gives Whitney love, security, and discipline while she gives Jace control, love and so much more by the end of the novel. In my honest opinion, this is the kind of book Fifty Shades of Grey should have been and if you want to read that kind of romance novel then I’d recommend Call Me Daddy over Fifty shades any day.
