Dear Mr. Firefighter by Kelli Callahan

Book Review

Title: Dear Mr. Firefighter

Author: Kelli Callahan

Genre: Romance

Rating: *****

Review: So this book is part of the same series as Dear Lonely Heart although each book in the series is written by a different author. As I loved Dear Lonely Heart, I was excited to see what the other books in this series had in store for me. Dear Mr. Firefighter follows Chloe and ex-Navy SEAL and current firefighter Cain. It seems that both Chloe and Cain were signed up to the agency by others and that neither is really looking for a relationship as they both seem to have some major trust issues.

However, once they begin writing to each other they see that they have a similar perspective on love and relationships and Chloe seems to think that she might be able to give a relationship a go with an older man who is more mature and understanding of her position than guys in the past. Cain, while we don’t know much about his dating history, doesn’t really indulge in relationships probably due to his work commitments, but he really seems to like Chloe and both are settling in a routine of getting to know one another slowly, building some trust between them.

Chloe and Cain have so much in common and their dates are just adorable but despite the undeniable attraction between the pair they want to wait the 3 months Grace recommends as Chloe is a virgin and Cain doesn’t want her to rush into something, she might not be ready for. Around 2 months pass and both Chloe and Cain are finding it extremely hard to keep their hands off one another, however, there are times when they come close to crossing the lines between innocent and slightly less innocent.

In the end, Dear Mr. Firefighter is an emotional roller-coaster, it made me laugh, blush and then sob hysterically for longer than I’d like to admit. The multiple epilogues that show snippets of Chloe and Cain’s relationship after the ending scene really hit me in the feels and I wish that this was a full-length novel like Dear Lonely Heart but I can’t fault this book at all.
