Demanded by the Alien (Rebels of Sidyth Book 4) by Sabrina Kade

Book Review

Title: Demanded by the Alien (Rebels of Sidyth Book 4)

Author: Sabrina Kade

Genre: Romance/Sci-Fi

Rating: *****

Review: So, this is book 4 in a sci-fi alien romance series which follows a new couple each book but set in the same universe and has a companion series called Chosen Narratives. This story is going to follow Dolan and Layla which I was excited about as Dolan is Azan’s younger brother from a previous novel in this series. I must also admit that the cover redesign on this series was beautiful and really gives you a vivid image of what the males in the series look like.

Demanded by the alien opens with a love square of sorts as Dolan is interested in Layla, who is interested in Exer, who is interested in Sloane which is a very complex situation. However, Dolan is persistent and tries numerous times to get to know Layla better, but it is when she has a nightmare that she admits to herself that opening up to someone else alien or not might not be as bad as she assumed. Layla on the other hand, become an entertainer to pay for her brother; Shep’s medical expenses and frequently has nightmares about not being able to help him.

As we approach the halfway mark in the novel, we are beginning to see that Layla and Dolan are more alike than Layla first thought and while Dolan can be arrogant and rash, he is also kind and caring when she needs him to be. I liked how unlike the other couples, their relationship isn’t explosive but rather a slow burn, it takes the unsure and nervous Layla slowly allowing herself to open up to Dolan and allowing herself to become attached to someone else when she has been detached from everything for so long.

When Layla finally lays her soul bare to Dolan, all her insecurities and fears he takes it all in his stride and finally proves to Layla that being his mate might not be that bad and while she hasn’t verbally agreed to anything, she does start reciprocating the pleasure that he has given her recently. The ending of Demanded by the alien was great and everything worked out in a nice, happy but natural way. I also liked the fact that one of the children is being born at the end and I would love to see some art of what the Sidyth/human babies would look like and I can’t wait to see what Sabrina Kade has left in store for this series. I will definitely be reading anything this author has to offer.
