Book Review

Title: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol 10 by Koyoharu Gotouge

Genre: Manga, Fantasy

Rating: 5 Stars

Volume 10 continues the Entertainment District arc and the battle with Daki, as Tanjiro is on the back foot and seemingly about to be killed by Daki, Nezuko joins the fight. Nezuko even with her amazing abilities we have seen is no match for Daki until her anger prompts her to transform into a more powerful demon as we can see by the emergence of a horn on her head and a leaf pattern over her body.

Daki and Nezuko clash and we can see how incredibly powerful Nezuko has become even though she hasn’t eaten any humans like Daki as they are able to go toe to toe. However, with Daki injured, Nezuko almost attackes a human but Tanjiro stops her at the last moment but he can’t get Nezuko under control. Tengen appears and gives Tanjiro the idea of singing her a lullaby and it is one their mother used to sing which brings Nezuko back and she eventually falls asleep in Tanjiro’s arms.

Tengen is able to quickly behead Daki much to her surprise and this causes her to throw a tantrum and summon her brother, Gyuutarou. Gyuutarou is definitely the stronger of the two siblings and takes on Uzui while Tanjiro is putting Nezuko into her box. Gyuutarou manages to poison Tengen which is slowing him down a little but just in time backup has arrived in Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke.
