Title: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol 11 by Koyoharu Gotouge
Genre: Manga, Fantasy
Rating: 5 Stars
Volume 11 picks up where volume 10 left off as the battle between siblings is continuing. At this point in the fight everyone on the demon slayer’s side is injured and Tengen knows they have to end the fight quickly or they won’t be getting out of this alive. He is also the one to realise that both Daki and Gyuutarou’s heads need to be cut off at the same time in order to kill them but the team are struggling.
Eventually they make the decision to split into pairs with Zenitsu and Inosuke taking on Daki leaving Tengen and Tanjiro to deal with Gyuutaoru. Neither pair seems to be making much progress but they are working together to cut their heads off but it is proving to be a challenge even for Uzui. As the battle progresses, Tengen ends up losing an arm but he and Tanjiro manage to cut off Gyuutarou’s head at the same time Inosuke takes off Daki’s but there is one final surprise in store for them.
Gyuutarou’s body explodes causing an insane amount of damage but everyone survives. Nezuko saves both Inosuke and Uzui from Gyuutarou’s poison and Tanjiro ends up having a final conversation with Daki and Gyuutarou. Seeing their past and deaths was heart-breaking as they were treated horribly by those around them and were victims of circumstance more than anything before they were changed by Douma, another upper moon demon. The group rest and recover at the Butterfly Mansion were news of Uzui’s retirement has spread. Tanjiro ends up in a coma for two months before waking up but the most exciting thing was seeing the Upper Moon meeting at the end of the volume were we are introduced to the rest of the upper moon demons.
