Title: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol 12 by Koyoharu Gotouge
Genre: Manga, Fantasy
Rating: 5 Stars
It takes Tanjiro a full week to recover after waking from his coma but he has no new sword waiting for him even though it was sent to the swordsmiths just after he arrived at the Butterfly Mansion. He ends up receiving permission to travel to the swordsmith village but it is a highly secret location since without the swordsmiths the demon slayers wouldn’t have their nichirin blades used to kill demons.
Here Tanjiro runs into Mitsuri who he has a huge crush on if the nosebleeds are anything to go by and Genya, Sanemi’s younger brother. They are later joined by Muichirou but there is something definitely going on with Genya. Tanjirou uses this time to be trained by swordsmiths using a training doll that has the exact appearance of a man Tanjiro saw in a dream. This man is Yoriichi who was the first breathing technique user and a Sun Breathing Technique user at that. Yoriichi met one of Tanjirou’s ancestors and he learns this might be an inherited memory which we have seen when Daki inherited Muzan’s memories through his blood meaning there must be a strong link between Tanjirou and Yoriichi.
He doesn’t really have time to think about this as an upper moon demon arrives, these are moons 4 & 5, Hantengu and Gyokko who seem to have a similar ability to Daki and Gyuutaoru as they can spawn multiple bodies although these are based on emotions. This new battle begins but with Tanjirou, Muichirou, Genya and Nezuko on the scene it doesn’t exactly feel like a fair fight but these demons always have something up their sleeve to pull out at the last moment.
