Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol 4 by Koyoharu Gotouge

Book Review

Title: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol 4 by Koyoharu Gotouge

Genre: Manga, Fantasy

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Volume 4 was a little step down from volume 3 but mainly because I really hate how Inosuke was in the beginning especially knowing how great of a character he becomes later one but this volume does feature one of my favourite fights from the first season and that is the spider clan. After defeating Kyogai and rescuing everyone from the house, the trio take some time to recover before heading to their next assignment.

This time they are sent to a mountain infested with demon like the final selection but this demon clan feature a family. The first one they face down in the mother who can control people using the spider’s threads and she made stronger demon slayers kill each other when the trio arrive. Little do they know that some Pillars in the form of Giyuu and Shinobu are on their way so they try their best.

This volume seemed to move a lot quicker than the previous volumes as Tanjiro and Inosuke quickly finish off the mother spider demon who provides more information about this “family” and tells Tanjiro that one of the twelve demon moons is there before she dies. Meanwhile, Zenitsu deals with one of the other spider demons but is poisoned and uses his breathing technique to slow the poison down but he will die if help doesn’t arrive soon. The volume ends with Inosuke and Tanjiro encountering two more spiders demons, one of which is the incredibly stronger father demon but we haven’t seen much of Rui who is the brains behind everything.
