Review: I have read quite a few books by Flora Ferrari and loved them so I don’t think this will be any different, this story is going to follow Amy and Benjamin and from the title, I think Benjamin is going to be a hunky firefighter. Flora certainly wasn’t waiting around with this novel as she jumps straight into the action and all the good stuff that goes with it. Amy and Benjamin’s attraction is electric from the second they lay eyes on each other and it doesn’t stop there.
After their amazing first time together where they don’t even know each other’s names, I was so excited to see where this relationship was going to go. When Benjamin returns to the station, he anxiously awaits the report where he can get the girls phone number and name. As we approach the halfway mark in the novel, we learn that Amy is the friend of Benjamin’s daughter, but he doesn’t recognise her, but it is Amy who doesn’t offer up the information and enters into a hot and heavy relationship with her best friend’s dad and I have a feeling this is going to come back and bite her later on in the novel.
The ending of Fireman’s Filthy 4th was a lot more emotional than I was expecting. The way Benjamin and Amy’s relationship was brought to light and how people reacted to it was what I was expecting but what happened next literally took my breath away and I made me smile. The epilogue and the extended epilogue were delightful and really proved that life is short, and we should live while we can.
