Matched to a Billionaire by Mio Takai & Kat Cantrell

Book Review

Title: Matched to a Billionaire

Author: Mio Takai, Kat Cantrell

Genre: Manga

Rating: ****

Review: So, we are introduced to Daniella on her wedding day, where we learn she is getting married to a man that she has never meant before. We then jump back several months, where we learn Daniella was looking for someone who could provide for her and her terminally ill mother and Leo is looking for someone who would support his very hectic and work-obsessed lifestyle. Both join a matchmaking service and obviously end up matched together where they agree to tie the knot almost immediately.

During their wedding, Daniella notices that Leo doesn’t kiss her properly or even spend their wedding night together and it continues this way from weeks and Daniella is getting lonely, but she is grateful as Leo has provided her with everything she has ever wanted and proper nursing facilities for her mother. We also learn that learn is so focused on work because he grew up poor as well and never want to return to that life, but he is also conscious of the fact that if he relaxes he might end up slipping back to that life.

As we cross into the second half of the story, we see Daniella and Leo developing a friendship, but it hasn’t transitioned into the realm of a physical relationship yet. In the end, Daniella and Leo have their issues but they do manage to work it out and find a nice balance in their relationship. Overall, I liked Matched to a Billionaire, but it did seem like a generic, run of the mill romance novel.
