Title: Morning Glory Milking Farm (Cambric Creek: Sweet and Steamy Monster Romance Book 1) by C.M. Nascosta
Genre: Fantasy, Erotic, Romance
Rating: 4.25 Stars
A little while ago this book blew up on TikTok and I gave it a few months for the hype to die down before picking it up. I have nothing against monster romances, recently I read Ensnared which features a male love interest who is essentially a huge spider and adored it so I could wait to bite into a minotaur romance. We are introduced to Violet who is a struggling millennial after finishing grad school and she is struggling to find a job when she sees the job advert for a milking technician at Morning Glory Farm in Cambric Creek.
The job is a little further away from where she is currently living but it pays well and offers some great benefits but the job is intentionally vague which she is worried about. Very quickly after applying she realises that the milking element isn’t like for cows but collecting semen from minotaurs for a pharmaceutical company, while she does think she is suited for the job she takes it because she doesn’t really have a choice but she learns quickly and really craves a place for herself within the company especially since she is the only human working there. Something I really loved about this world was the mass of non-human characters ranging from Minotaurs, Elves, Orc and Tieflings and many more. Within the company the clients are split into categories, Earners (who are paid a lot for their donations), Clockwatchers (clients who are always pushed for time and Good Little Cows who are there for the sexual fantasy rather than sex but they are a small portion of the clients. One of the first clients Violet has after her shadowing period is a Clockwatcher but she feels really drawn to him and the way he reacts to her attentions and she finds herself aroused by him but it never happens with any other client. For months, Violet attends the Minotaur who specifically requests her every time he comes in and he tips well and deals with her arousal on her own. However, the more she sees him the more they interact, getting to know each other and develop a bond with each other. After visiting a coffee shop on his recommendation, Violet actually ends up bumping into him and learns that his name is Rourke.
Violet learns that the ring through Rourke’s nose means that he is married but he clarifies that he is divorced and just hasn’t had the confidence to remove the ring. Their flirting continues and when Rourke does get the ring removed he asks Violet out on a date and she agrees. Very quickly the sexual tension between them reaches new levels but they don’t actually sleep together yet but Violet needs to be prepared for that but when it does happen she knows she has to get Rourke for the long haul because she will never be able to go back to human men again. Their relationship continues and in the epilogue we see them a few months on where they are spending more time together and essentially living together. Violet also tells her family that she is dating Rourke and they are very accepting of it as are her friends which was nice to see and I can’t wait to see more of them. Overall, Morning Glory Milking Farm was an interesting read with a great premise and incorporates the monster genre very nicely and it comes with a great couple and a wonderful HEA that really took me by surprise.
