This is the fourth book in the Human Mating Site series and this time we are following Bella and Jensen as they meet while she is on a girl’s weekend away. Like with Liam there is some instant tension between Jensen and Bella making me think this is going to be a great instalment in the series.
Jensen and Bella have some amazing chemistry from the first time they meet and he has a dirty mouth that rivals Liam’s which was a nice surprise. Seeing a more confident Bella who is willing to go after the things she wants was also amazing as I love a sexually confident FMC.
However, the quality of the smutty scenes has taken a down turn which was unexpected and there was things introduces that went completely about it in the wrong way. Jensen is kinky while Bella has never explored these things and while she is willing to try he does violate her trust in a big way by turning to introduce anal play with her even after she stated that she didn’t want to try it.
The thing that bothered me the most was there wasn’t even any lube or discussing of the act before hand he just tried it which makes me think either the author doesn’t have experience in the area and didn’t do any research which would be disappointing for a smutty author. If this had been handled in a completely different way it could have been so much better and seeing Joel at the end just put a downer on the novella for me. I am hoping the fifth novella will bring back a lot of the things I loved about this series initially.
