My Winter Bookie Trials TBR

The Winter Bookie Trials is taking place for its winter round between 2nd – 9th December. The aim of this round is to complete all the prompts with as few books as possible.

Here are the prompts and I will list below the books I intend to read during the week.

The Queen’s Armada – The journey is dark and full of terrors. Team up and Buddy Read a book. Double points are granted if you have a full team of mixed classes (Mage, Scribe, Bard & Outlaw).

Orc Eaves – The other side of Orc Grove is where the progressive orcs live freely, read a book with an LGBTQIAP+ character.

The Beacon of Hope – Light the way for your fellow questers, and cozy up by the beacon for a rest stop. Light a candle or make yourself a warm drink to accompany you as you read.

Serpentine Allegiance – The Serpents of the East may be able to assist. Read a book recommended by a booktuber or blogger. Make sure to shout them out.

Rural Haven – You find an untouched rural village. In the hardest of times there is comfort in the known. Read a book from your favourite genre OR from an author you have previously given 5 stars to.

Eastern Escape – Protected, enchanted, a whole civilisation in hiding grants you access to their mystical land. Read a book by a marginalized author (gender identity, race, cultural background).

Graves End – Not all of our army will make it. Read a book that contains death or themes of death.

Glacial Pass – The Frost Giants are fierce and terrorsome. Camouflage yourselves with a white book, or a book that contains snow/winter time themes.

Desolate Ruins – Forgotten and Foresaken. Awaken the magic of these crumbling rocks by reading a book which you already own, or a book freely available to you (free at the point of reading e.g. library, audible, scribd, libby, borrowed).

Daemonic Residue – It appears we are not in time to save all. This is why we are here. We must save our Daemons. Read a book containing one or more animals or magical beasts.

The Dark Shard – TAKE DOWN THE EVIL ENCHANTER. Read a book containing a morally grey character or villainous main character.

For The Queen’s Armada, Serpentine Allegiance, Daemonic Residue and Rural Haven I am hoping to buddy read The Way of Kings Part 1 and I am still looking for a Mage, Outlaw and Bard to take part. As I aim to buddy read this it fit the first prompt, I also found this through a few Booktubers including Captured in Words (you should definitely check out his channel if you love fantasy) and I previously rated a few of Brandon Sanderson’s books 5 stars.

For Orc Eaves. The Beacon of Hope, Graves End, Desolate Ruins I plan to read They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera as it features gay and bisexual main characters, it heavily features themes of death and I already own this book.

Eastern Escape – I have no idea what to read for this prompt, so this is going to be my mood read during the readathon. I think Adam Silvera might fit this prompt but I am unsure, let me know what you think.

For Glacial Pass and The Dark Shard I am hoping to read Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows as part is set in winter, it features many magical creatures and the morally grey character is obviously Snape.

This brings my total number of books for the readathon to 4 and the total page count if I finish the 3 that I have chosen will be 1724.
