Book Review
Title: Schooled
Author: M A Lee
Genre: Romance
Rating: *****
Review: So all I know about this series is that it is set in a school environment and follows the cheerleader Holly and the nerdy tutor Lance. We learn that Holly has got a scholarship to attend college in California and has moved from Kentucky. Her roommate Lacey is nice enough to show her around campus after attending the first party before classes start. Along the way, Holly bumps into Lance who immediately makes a bad impression but they remain civil as Lance and Lacey are siblings but there is something about the adorable slightly dorky Lance that intrigues Holly.
Lance and Holly manage to make up as he admits he was wrong to judge her on her appearance and something is sparking between the pair and as these books are quite short the interesting stuff is going to start soon. The chemistry between Lance and Holly is undeniable but neither has made a move because they are both quite shy, but Lance does get a little jealous when Holly takes an interesting the football player Mack while they are paired together on a sociology project.
When Holly gets invited to a beach bonfire party, she immediately invites Lacey, but Lance warns them to be careful especially around Anderson. After arriving and letting loose a little Holly is constantly getting hit on by Anderson and Lacey feels something is wrong. When Anderson takes Holly for a walk on the beach away from the other, he attacks her trying to force her into sleeping with him when Lance arrives to save the day all thanks to Lacey and a well-timed text.
In the aftermath of the incident, Lance reveals that he has feelings for Holly and that she feels to the same way about him. They get caught in quite a steamy make-out session by Lacey who is ok with their relationship after they explain their feelings. The relationship between Lance and Holly was a delight to read and I really enjoyed reading about their relationship and how they overcame, societal views and their own prejudices to see the real people and I can’t wait to jump into Breaking the Rules.
