So Right (Sugar Baby, #2) by Rebekah Weatherspoon

Book Review

Title: So Right (Sugar Baby, #2)

Author: Rebekah Weatherspoon

Genre: Erotic/Romance

Rating: *****

Review: After the ending of So Sweet and the synopsis of this book, I have a good idea of what’s coming but I am still excited to take the journey with Kayla and Michael. So Right takes place quite a few months after So Sweet since Michael and Kayla have now been together for 10 months, they have successfully navigated moving in together and got two puppies named, Penny (who is Michael’s) and Patch (who is Kayla’s). Kayla and her friend Daniella have also set up a business called K&D Cards and are absolutely killing it with Kayla’s design skills. Not long after Michael has to fly to Miami for the chance to buy a basketball team which is something he has always dreamed of and Kayla missed him greatly, however, she learns on a video call with her twin sisters that Michael came to visit her parents and them to ask for permission to marry Kayla yet even after returning he doesn’t pop the question, not even on their romantic weekend or during their trip to Miami.

Life returns to normal for the pair but Kayla can’t help thinking about the big romantic gesture that Michael obviously has planned for the proposal but it doesn’t go down that way at all. Yes, Michael plans a romantic dinner to propose but he doesn’t do it with the ring, he does it with a prenup which was devasting for Kayla, despite the massive rock he pulled out afterwards. Kayla enters this weird out of body phase as Michael discusses marriage and children and she obviously says yes because she loves him but she is absolutely heartbroken about the way he proposed and she doesn’t even have time to talk to him about it because he has to fly down to Miami.

Kayla goes to join him down there but she is an emotional mess right now because she knows she loves Michael but she is also angry at him because of the way he proposed but doesn’t have the faintest idea how to tell him, even though he knows there is something wrong the whole time. With Michael’s insane schedule there isn’t a lot of time for them to sit down and talk, so these negative emotions keep building between the two and when they finally talk, there isn’t any shouting or screaming, although there is a rather intense sex scene, they talk like rational adults, lay all their feelings out there and come up with the most appropriate plan to deal with everything. I really like how they cleared the air with each other and both cried, this is the first time we see Michael cry and it isn’t because he is sad, it is because he has just realised that he can’t live another day without Kayla by his side which was adorable. The novel ends with the engagement photos of the pair which was beautiful as it is something both of them wanted and I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book So For Real.
