Book Review
Title: Sweat and Soap, Vol. 3 by Kintetsu Yamada
Genre: Manga, Comedy, Romance
Rating: 5 Stars
Volume keeps up the cute scenes especially as Natori is about to go on a four day business trip and this is the right time Asako and Natori are going to be apart. While on the trip Ichise overhears Natori on the phone to Asako and figures out that they are dating. She does end up confessing her feelings to Natori who obviously can’t return them but he has always viewed her as a younger sister and doesn’t want to abandon that friendship if it is possible.
Asako and Natori up until this point have been firmly in the honeymoon phase and they have to have a serious conversation about what occurred on the trip. This conversation leads to the pair finally saying I love you to each other which was delightful. Asako and Ichise also clear the air with each other and make their positions clear, Asako explains that she is insecure and was worried she would lose Natori to Ichise but Ichise knows that Natori doesn’t have eyes for anyone else but Asako. Afterwards, Natori and Asako end up going on another date around their busy schedules and with Natori’s birthday coming up they decide to take time off and go on a trip together and they also decide to be more open about their relationship.
They end up planning to go to Hokkaido and while they have a lot of fun on the trip it really confirms their feelings for each other. Natori also has an ulterior motive since he has booked a room with an open air bath, while he is a little perv we love him for it and so does Asako. That scene at the end was absolutely perfection since they have been together for months now and it makes sense for them to be more comfortable together. I can’t wait to see how this relationship develops over the rest of the series.
