Book Review
Title: Temptation by Selena Kitt (Under Mr. Nolan’s Bed Book 1)
Genre: Erotic, Taboo, Romance
Rating: 4 Stars
I have read this book once before but I didn’t continue on with the series for some reason so I am re-reading book 1 for a refresh before continuing on with the series. We are introduced to Leah and Erica who have been best friends for most of their lives. At 18 both girls are dealing with frustrations about attending a catholic school but Erica has her boyfriend Bobby and both regularly sneak into Erica’s father’s room to look at his porn collection. The girl end up exploring their sexuality together but when Leah accidently sees Mr. Nolan masturbating one night it awakens a new desire in her and she doesn’t know how to cope with it.
Eventually this desire spills over from fantasy into real life as Leah ends up going down on Rob but they quickly put some distance between themselves because they know their relationship is wrong despite Leah being an adult. However, they find they can’t stay away from each other and they eventually end up getting into a sexual relationship even though Rob has been going on dates with a woman named Jennifer but both eventually realises that their feelings go beyond sexual desire and they want to be together.
Leah and Rob eventually decide to move in together and tell Leah’s mother about their relationship but this doesn’t go to plan because Leah overhears a conversation where her mother admits that Rob is her father not the father that raised her. This is a shocking blow for Leah as it solidifies the fact they can never truly be together even though Rob has demonstrated he has no problem crossing that line as he has slept with Erica, his own daughter a few time with Leah. Despite this Leah ends up fleeing and the novel ends with her at confession. Overall, some of the spicier scenes were a little cheesy but that didn’t make them any less intense and I do plan to continue with the series to find out where Leah went and how her relationship with Rob as both lover and father plays out.
