The opening to the Babysitter was interesting as we are introduced to Richard Martin and his wife, Alice at a work Christmas party but things aren’t going well between the couple. They have a sixteen month old son, Alex and both are struggling with being new parents and holding down demanding jobs and the fact Richard’s supervisor and the CEO’s daughter, Scarlet is hitting on him constantly and aggressively isn’t helping and Alice constantly asks what is going on between them when nothing is. Richard isn’t innocent though as he doesn’t shut down Scarlet and actually gets very frustrated and aroused in her prescence which his wife obviously notices and does her best to prevent her husband from cheating but from this alone I can see it is going to happen it is just a question of who with.
After returning home from the party he is confronted with their babysitter, Rebecca who he finds attractive but seems oblivious to her crush on him until Alice points it out as well as Rebecca’s beauty making me think that Alice is bisexual. Richard has offered to help Rebecca with fixing her father’s laptop as it seems she comes from an abusive household and might be working to pay the bills since her father isn’t. During the time he is Rebecca’s flat alone, the temptations of the night spill over and he ends up sleeping with her but he is married with a child as she knows so he can’t promise her this is nothing more than a one night stand which obviously breaks the young girl’s heart but I also have a feeling that his wife knows exactly what he has been up to in this time and it is going to come back to haunt him later on. It was a good start to the series and definitely has more character development than most erotic series and I can’t wait to see where it goes in the Boss’ Daughter which is going to focus on Richard and Scarlet.
