Title: The Dangerous Jacob Wilde
Author: Sachiko Shirai
Genre: Manga
Rating: *****
Review: The opening of The Dangerous Jacob Wilde introduces us to Addison who inherited a Texas ranch from her mentor and boss Charlie. Addison is already familiar with the Wilde siblings as Caleb was Charlie’s attorney and Travis is a financial advisor, they have worked with in the past but the third mysterious brother; Jake hasn’t been introduced yet.
When Addison first sets eyes on Jake she is immediately attracted to him, but he assumes Charlie left the ranch to her because she was his mistress or lover which is completely wrong, and Addison isn’t shy about letting him know that. After a rocky start, the pair quickly develop a romantic relationship but it is clear that Jake is suffering from PTSD that includes flashback and dreams that cause his behaviour to be erratic and sometimes boarding on violent.
Scared he is going to hurt Addison with his behaviour Jake decides it is better to break things off and time passes and while Addison can’t forget him, she doesn’t really hear from him. It is only when the Wilde siblings father arrives on the scene that the others learn where Jake has been and what he has been doing. When they learn that he bought the ranch that Addison has sold, the pair are brought back together. Jake has obviously started dealing with his issues and is ready to have a relationship, and in the whole time Addison has never forgotten him or her love for him and the pair quickly pick up where they left off. The Dangerous Jacob Wilde is one of my favourite Harlequin Mangas by far and I highly recommend you read it.
