Rating: *****
Review: In the Twelve dates of Christmas we are introduced to Eloise whose husband died some years back and because her parents didn’t approve of the relationship she is struggling financially. At a party with her friend, she is introduced to Ricky was also has a hard life after the death of his son, the pair get along well and for a time Eloise distracts Ricky from the constant reminder of his son. While taking Eloise home Ricky proposes a deal for Eloise to pretend to be his girlfriend so the people, he associates with will stop badgering him to move on.
Soon after starting their arrangement Ricky and Eloise start developing feelings for each other but neither makes a move as their own respective traumas hold them back. Most of this manga is just waiting for them to get together but when they do you realise that it was worth the wait. While Eloise gets over her trauma and is willing to share it with Ricky, he is more withdrawn and reluctant to share his pain with her but when he finally realises that she is going to love him no matter what he can finally open himself to loving and being happy again.
