Winter Bookie Trials - Scavenger Hunt

This scavenger hunt is part of the Winter Quest for the Bookie Trials Readathon that will be starting on December 2nd. The goal is to gather supplies for our journey. For more information, you should check out the Queen’s announcement video.

1. You Will Be Crossing the Eastern Sea, You’ll Need a 𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐓

Life of Pi by Yann Martel

The boat makes most of this cover as if you’ve seen the movie like myself or read the book, most of the story takes place in a small lifeboat. An easy pick for me and as I’ve only seen the movie, I do have the book on my TBR.

2. To Be Under-Dressed in Orc Eaves is An Offence, Wear Something 𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐘 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐄𝐃

Kojiki by Keith Yatsuhashi

This cover is absolutely stunning. It is a book I own and plan to read very soon but I can’t deny how elaborate this cover is, every time I look at it, I notice something new.

3. You Need 𝗪𝐎𝐎𝐃 to Keep the Beacon of Hope Lit

Ghost Wood Song by Erica Waters

This book title is made of wooden lettering, so I think it counts. This was the hardest one for me.

4. To Work With the Serpentine Allegiance You First Need to Master the Language, Speak With Our Own 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐎𝐍𝐒/𝗪𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐎𝐍𝐒

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

The tails of the lettering form a dragon-like creature, more of a water dragon.

5. Tell The Dears at Rural Haven That You Are Thankful – With a Gift of 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

A classic that I love, and it’s set in space so how could it not have stars on the cover.

6. In Order to Gain Entry, Show Eastern Escape That You Are an Ally to 𝐏𝐎𝐂𝐬

Dread Nation by Justina Ireland

I haven’t read it but I plan to.

7. Lay 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝗪𝐄𝐑𝐒 at Graves End of Those Already Passed

Flowers in the Attic by V C Andrews.

Not on the original cover but they do feature on the reprint edition which I own.

8. Whilst Hiding From the Frost Giants Keep Warm With 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐄

The Devil’s Thief by Lisa Maxwell

Another series that I really want to read soon.

9. Rebuild Some of the Desolate Ruins With 𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒

Heart of Thorns by Bree Barton

I love this book and vines feature heavily on the cover.

10. Gather the 𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒 of Daemonic Residue – We Will Bury Our Daemons on Our Own Lands.

Trinity of Bones by Caitlin Seal

Loved the first book Twice Dead, and you can see the bones in the person’s hand on the cover.

11. For the Dark Shard, You Will Have to Sneak. Cloak Yourselves in a 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊 Robe

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

I had so much choice with this prompt, but I had to go with a classic I love.
