Title: Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otakus Vol 5 by Fujita
Genre: Slice of Life, Romance, Manga
Rating: 5 Stars
I stated in my last review that Volume 4 was my favourite so far and Volume 5 snatched that right away as well get so much more from the side couples than I was expecting. First off, we get the awkward interactions between Nao and Ko now both of them are aware of their feelings for the other and Ko plays it off and she has a part time job but Nao gets rather upset and ends up going to his brother for advice which doesn’t seem like the best idea at first.
Hirotaka plays his role of older brother perfectly explaining how he has always loved Narumi but how he only recently came to realise it was love in a romantic sense rather than a sibling sense and this give Nao the knowledge and courage to sort through his own feelings for Ko. By the time they actually talk both are ready to confess in their own way but Nao really shines here explaining that he was oblivious to Ko’s growing feelings for him but when he say her making her own friends without him and getting a job he realises that he loved her and wanted to be with her. The scene ending with the both of them crying yet holding hands was the most wholesome thing I have ever had the pleasure of reading.
Volume 5 also gives us the Kabakura wedding which literally made me tear up and I thought I was going to cry. Taro telling Hanako see looks beautiful in her wedding dress and watching Narumi cry happy tears for her friends was amazing. The pair have even learned to compromise which is something that has caused a lot of arguments in the past for them. Also seeing Taro’s past with Hirotaka when he first came to work at the company and how they become friends all on their own was amazing. I can’t believe volume 6 is the last one and I have no idea what Fujita has in store for me but I am 100% sure I am not really for this to end.
